How an order moves: statuses explained
Every order moves through five steps: Pending, Accepted, Food Ready, Dispatched and Completed. Takeaway and dine-in orders skip Dispatched. You move an order forward with one button, and the customer's order page follows each change.

The steps an order goes through
| Status | What it means | The button you press |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | The order has arrived and nobody has accepted it. The alarm rings until you do. | Accept |
| Accepted | You have taken the order and the kitchen is making it. Automatic rider booking can start at this step. | Mark Ready |
| Food Ready | The food is cooked and packed. | Dispatch for delivery, Complete for takeaway and dine-in |
| Dispatched | A delivery order is out with a rider. | Complete |
| Completed | The order is delivered or handed over. | None |
| Cancelled | The order was cancelled. Only a Pending order can be cancelled. | See Cancel an order |

Step 1: Press the button on the dashboard
Each of the latest orders on the Dashboard has a button for its next step. A new order shows Accept.
Step 2: Or open the order and use the top button
In Orders, open an order. The button at the top names the status it moves to, for example Mark Accepted or Mark Food Ready.
Step 3: Or pick any status from the menu
The status pill in the order list and the status menu on an order both open the same list: Pending, Accepted, Food Ready, Dispatched, Completed and Cancelled.
