Make and edit your menu in the free POS

In a free POS, the Menu screen is where you build the menu: categories on the left, dishes on the right with a price or sizes, a code or barcode, a veg mark and a photo. Press Save menu and billing shows the changes at once.

Build the menu

Step 1: Open Menu

Press Menu in the top bar (on a phone, under More). A manager's PIN opens it.

Step 2: Add categories

Press + Add category and type its name, such as *Starters*. × deletes a category and its dishes.

Step 3: Add dishes

Pick a category and press + Add dish. Fill in the Dish name, the price, and a Code / barcode if you type or scan codes at the till.

Step 4: Save

Press Save menu. Menu saved — Billing shows it now.

What a dish can have

  • Sizes: press Sizes, then + Add size for each one (for example *Small* and *Large*) with its own price. One price only goes back to a single price.
  • Veg mark: tap the chip to cycle —, Veg and Non-veg.
  • Available / Off today: tap to switch a dish off for now. It shows greyed out.
  • Photo: tap + to add a JPG, PNG or WebP photo. On Android you can Take photo or Choose from gallery.
Find photos for youFind photos online looks for a photo for every dish without one, in Menuthere's photo library first and then on the web. It needs the internet and the email account you added at setup.

Store details

The Store details panel holds what prints on your bills and how they're worked out: Store name, Phone, Address, Tax number (GST or VAT), Tax %, Tax is (Included in my prices or Added on top of my prices) and the number of Tables.

Can I bring in a menu I already have?
Yes. Paste it from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, or use an Excel file. See Import your menu.
I left without saving. Are my changes lost?
The POS warns Menu changes not saved. Open Menu again and press Save menu.
