Stock management
Stock management lets you set how many of each dish you can sell. Every order lowers the count, and a dish that reaches zero switches itself off so customers can't order it. You can set one count per dish, or a separate count for each upcoming date.
Stock management is an add-on sold on request. Ask Menuthere support to turn it on.

Set your stock
One count per dish. Good for a daily batch, such as 40 plates of biryani.
Step 1: Open Stock Management
Go to More → Stock Management. The top shows Total, In stock and Out of stock counts. Choose By item at the top right.
Step 2: Type a count and confirm
Type a number in the Stock available box for a dish. A tick and a cross appear. Press the tick to save, or the cross to cancel. Use Search items... and the Show all or Out of stock filter to find dishes.
Step 3: Change several dishes at once
Tick the boxes beside dishes. A bar appears with Mark Available and Mark Unavailable. Choose one and press Apply, or Clear to deselect.
A separate count for each upcoming date. Good for pre-orders and catering, where Saturday can sell out while Sunday stays open.
Step 1: Open the By date view
In More → Stock Management, choose By date. Dishes are rows and dates are columns. Choose Next 7 days, Next 14 days or Next 30 days. If prebooking is on, the columns are the dates customers can book.
Step 2: Cap a dish
Tick Cap on a dish to track it by date. It starts with a Default/day of 20 that you can change. Dishes you don't cap stay always available.
In the dashboardMoreStock Management
Step 3: Set a date and save
Type over any date cell to change that day only. Empty cells use the Default/day. The fill button beside a dish applies its default to every shown date. Press Save to apply. The button reads Save (2) while you have 2 unsaved edits.
How counts change
- Each order lowers the count by the quantity ordered. Sizes of one dish share one count.
- A dish with a count of 0 is switched off. Setting any number above 0 on a switched-off dish switches it back on.
- If an order is cancelled, its quantities go back into the count.
- By item counts reset once a day, around midnight India time: every count goes back to 9999 and dishes that sold out switch back on. A dish you switched off yourself while it still had stock stays off.
- By date counts do not reset. Each date has its own count. A capped dish is never switched off for good, only that date sells out.
- When you first open Stock Management, every dish starts at 9999, which in practice means unlimited. Lower the count only for dishes you want to limit.
