Limits, days and validity
Offers and discounts both have controls for when they run and how often they can be used. Offers have a time window and a per-order limit. Discounts add days of the week, a minimum order, order types and use limits.

Item offers

Once published, only Limit per order can be changed. To change dates or channels, delete the offer and create it again. See Create an item offer.
Discounts

| Maximum discount amount | When it applies | Caps how much a percentage discount, or a Buy X get Y reward, can take off. Blank means no cap. |

The status you see

Good to knowA discount whose end comes before its start is refused when you save, with the message “The end date must come after the start date”. Use the Enabled switch on a discount's row to pause it without deleting it.
Questions
Can a discount run only at lunch?
You can limit it to days of the week and to dates. A time of day is not one of the controls on this screen.
Can I bring back an expired discount?
Yes. It stays in the Expired list. Press its edit icon, set new dates and save.
