How customers sign in
Customers sign in with their phone number and no password, when they continue from the cart. If your store sends WhatsApp order updates, a 6-digit code is sent to that number on WhatsApp first. Orders from a table QR code skip the code.

The sign-in steps
Step 1: The customer continues from the cart
A customer who is not signed in sees a sheet headed Sign in to continue, with a line such as Order from Spice Garden and get updates on WhatsApp.
Step 2: They enter their number
They pick the country code and type the WhatsApp number. The field shows how many digits the country expects. Without WhatsApp order updates the button reads Continue and the sheet says Order updates will reach you on WhatsApp.
Step 3: They confirm the code
With WhatsApp order updates on, the sheet changes to Enter the code and a message Sent on WhatsApp to their number. They type the 6 digits and press Verify & continue. Resend code and Change (the number) are on the same sheet.
Step 4: They go on to checkout
They are signed in. If you ask for the customer's name, it is requested at login or on the checkout page.
