Recipe cost calculator
The recipe cost calculator works out what a recipe and one portion cost you. List the ingredients, the pack you buy and the amount you use, and it adds them up. Add your selling price to see your food cost percentage, then print a recipe card for the kitchen.

Cost a recipe
Open the recipe cost calculator. It is free, needs no sign-up and works on a phone.
Step 1: Name the recipe
Under 1. The recipe type the Recipe name, the Portions it makes and the Currency. Add the Selling price of one portion, before tax, to see your food cost percentage.
Step 2: List the ingredients
Under 2. Ingredients add each ingredient with the Pack you buy, the Pack price and Used in the recipe. Units are kg, g, litre, ml, piece and dozen. Use Usable when you lose part of the pack, such as peel, and leave it empty when nothing is lost.
Step 3: Read the cost
The Recipe cost panel shows the Cost of the whole recipe, the Cost per portion, your Food cost percentage and what is Left from each portion.
Step 4: Print the recipe card
Under 3. Method type the steps, one on each line. Under What goes on the card add your Your kitchen or business name. Switch off Show the cost on the card for a card the cooks use. Choose A4 or A5 and press Download PDF to print.
