Redeeming at checkout
- A customer with a balance sees a Loyalty points row with their balance and what it is worth, with Apply and Remove. Some layouts show a switch and a slider labelled Using N pts instead, plus View history.
- They can use their whole balance or less, up to your Max bill coverage (%) of the bill.
- If they have fewer points than your minimum, the row says “Earn at least N points to redeem”. If points cannot be used on that order, it says so.
- Points spent reduce the amount the customer pays.
- If the order is cancelled, or an online payment is never completed, the points are returned and a Refunded entry appears in their history.
Good to knowEach order is rewarded once. Marking the same order completed again does not give points twice. You set the rules under Set up loyalty points and can correct a balance by hand in Manage loyalty members.
Questions
Do points expire?
No. Points do not expire. A balance stays until it is spent or you remove points.
Can a customer pay a whole bill with points?
Only if Max bill coverage (%) is 100 and their balance is enough. The starting value is 100%. Lower it to keep part of every bill in cash.
Where does a customer see their points history?
On the checkout points row, View history opens it.
