Glossary of Menuthere terms
A short glossary of the words you will meet in Menuthere and in this documentation. Each term has a one-line meaning and, where there is a full page, a link to it.

| Term | Meaning |

| Storefront | Your public ordering page at menuthere.com/your-name, or on your own domain. Customers browse and order here. See How customers order. |
| Dashboard | The screen you sign in to, to run the store. See Dashboard tour. |
| Partner app | The Menuthere app for Android and iPhone that rings for new orders. See Get the partner app. |
| Pin | Your store's spot on the map. Delivery distances are measured from it. See Pin your store. |
| Digital menu | A view-only menu book with its own QR code. Guests read it and don't order from it. See The digital menu booklet. |
| Table QR | A QR code for one table. Scanning opens your menu with the table already set, so guests can order. See Set up QR table ordering. |
| Variant | A size or portion of a dish with its own price, such as half and full. See Sizes and portions. |
| Add-on (on a dish) | An extra choice a customer adds to a dish, such as extra cheese. See Add-ons and choices. |
Orders, hours and delivery
| Term | Meaning |

| Order type | How an order reaches the customer: Delivery, Takeaway or Dine-in. See Order types. |
| Prebooking | An order placed now for a later time. See Prebooking. |
| Pre-order | A prebooked order taken while your store is closed. See Take pre-orders while closed. |
| Slot | A time a customer picks for a prebooked order. Fixed slots follow set time ranges, and rolling slots count from now. See Time slots. |
| Delivery radius | A circle around your pin. You deliver to addresses inside it. See Delivery radius. |
| Delivery zone | An area you draw on the map. You deliver inside your zones. See Delivery zones. |
| KOT | Kitchen order ticket, the slip printed for the kitchen. See Kitchen tickets. |
| POS | Point of sale, the billing screen at your counter. Sold as an add-on. See Counter POS billing. |
| Captain | A waiter who takes table orders on the captain app. See Captain app for waiters. |
| Geo-lock | A rule that only lets guests inside your restaurant place table orders. See Stop orders from outside the restaurant. |
Payments and plans

| Payment gateway | The service that takes card and UPI payments into your own account, such as Cashfree, Razorpay, Easebuzz or Stripe. See Turn on online payments. |

| UPI | India's instant bank-to-bank payment system. |
| GST, VAT | Taxes on sales. See Tax, GST and VAT. |

| Add-on (on a plan) | An extra sold on request: POS, Captains, Stock management, Purchase & inventory and Porter & Rapido. See Add-ons. |

Marketing and WhatsApp

| WhatsApp template | A message format approved by Meta, used to start a chat with a customer. See Message templates. |

| 24-hour window | WhatsApp lets you send free-form replies for 24 hours after a customer's last message. See The 24-hour window. |
| Broadcast | One message sent to many customers at once. See Broadcasts. |
Questions
What does 0% commission mean?
Menuthere takes no cut of your orders. You pay a flat plan price, and your payment gateway charges its own transaction fee on online payments.
